I start wondering and asking myself "am I a foodie?" caused mostly I talk and think about food. I'm not a big eater but I always appreciate all meals that I have.
But here we go talking about food again!

Today, I find one of my favorite Indonesian street food. It's a well-known snack from West Java called cimol. Yes, it is another food from tapioca. I don't know why but Sundanese people have a lot of snacks from tapioca.
I buy it for Rp5.000 and get 16 balls of cimol. For the flavor, I chose balado and cheese. If you ask me "What is balado?" simply balado is one of Indonesia's spices from Minangkabau of West Sumatra.

Cimol is usually served in a clear plastic bag and the seller will give you a toothpick. Before eating it, don't forget to shake it first so all seasoning is mixed well on the cimol.
It has a crispy texture outside while the inside is still chewy. Because I choose balado and cheese, I can taste slightly salty, cheesy, and a bit spicy on it.
I remembered that the very first time tried cimol was when I was in Junior High School. I bought it because a friend of mine bought it a lot and I ended up curious about the taste. And yeah, it tastes really good tho! After that, I sometimes buy it during break time or after school.

My afternoon snack today is cimol and banana milk. Photo by restyu. |
My snack this afternoon is really simple but it's more than enough for me. It's just cimol and banana milk. But, it's the best combination for me!
