Krupuk, Something Crunchy That I Need In My Meal

 I believe you already know about krupuk since I mention it in certain posts. So, let's talk about it a bit.

I write it as krupuk but sometimes it's written as kerupuk in Bahasa Indonesia. It's sometimes translated as a cracker but I think cracker and krupuk is a different things.

So, what's krupuk? Simply to say krupuk is a snack usually made from starch. However, there's also a krupuk which is made from animal skin.

It has a crunchy texture since it got deep-fried. But I know there's a krupuk that got cooked on grilled sand too. I never try it before so I still am a bit clueless about it. Almost forget to mention it, but there are a lot of styles of krupuk.

I can say krupuk is something like sambal in Indonesia. Sometimes it feels lacking when there's no krupuk on our plate.

Whenever I think that I need something to add texture to my meal so it's not gonna be boring. Krupuk is my answer then.

You can buy krupuk anywhere here. Even the nearby warung usually sells it. One piece of krupuk costs Rp 1.000 up to Rp 2.000 depending on the type.

I buy raw krupuk recently. I just need to deep fry it before putting it on my meal. But I think if you have an air fryer you can use it to cook krupuk too.

Not gonna lie, cooking krupuk is so simple and quick. Just deep fry it in hot oil the the krupuk can rise well and is not dense.

My simple recipe for krupuk as a snack. After frying the krupuk put it in the jar. Adding your favorite seasoning, for me I just like chili powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Close the jar and shake it to mix the krupuk and seasoning. Tada, now you have crunchy and savory krupuk as your snack.

Well, that's all a bit of my thought about krupuk for now. Maybe I'll update it in the next post when I find something interesting about krupuk.

But do believe me that eating krupuk on my meal is such a blessing. I can get many experiences with every bite!
